How To Implement a Uniform Ordering System

Published: 30/01/2023
Businesses often have a good idea of some of the functionality they require when installing a uniform management system. What is less clear when speaking with customers and prospects, is how to expand and refine those ideas and plan their successful implementation.
Here, we have put together a short overview of this process - from signing off on the project, until it goes live (and beyond).

The team, here at Smart Red, employs a highly proactive and collaborative approach to each installation. This ensures that we can understand and cover all your requirements – all the way through the build and installation process. Due to its innovative design, Smart Red’s implementation process is entirely agile. This means that it is flexible enough to accommodate the unique needs of each client.
The implementation process is made up of 5 defined phases:
Phase 1 – Scoping
The first phase is imperative to the success of the project, where we collaboratively discuss and finalise the scope of the platform with you. During scoping, our respective teams come together to finalise the technical details, the information we require from you and at what stage, before agreeing a launch plan. This can be done face to face or online, whichever suits your team best.
Phase 2 & 3 – Design & Development
Our developers and designers work together to build and create ‘base’ version of your platform and all agreed functionality using best practice techniques. The timeline here can vary depending upon the nature of the project and the complexity of the customisation required.
Phase 4 – Testing
The success of the platform will be measured by its usability. Therefore, testing becomes the most important process prior to launch. We encourage your team to test all elements of the system to gather feedback. Information gathered will then feed into the development and design, until all parties are happy with the solution.
Phase 5 – Go Live
The final phase is to add any static data and agreed content before the site can go live and set up analytics for reporting purposes. Completion of this stage occurs when you confirm that the pilot configuration has been fully and satisfactorily tested. This will be done with the initial launch plan in mind and accommodate any changes that have happened throughout the build.
