Uniform Management System Seamlessly Connects with Laundry Services

Most workwear is designed to be durable and withstand frequent washing, so it can be cleaned in a washing machine using regular laundry detergents. It is important to follow the care instructions that are specified by the manufacturer, as some workwear may require special treatment and not following care instructions can lead to damage and a reduced lifespan of the garments.
Knowing this, some businesses require that their staff’s workwear and specialist PPE is professionally laundered by an external contractor, who may also repair damage/stains to keep uniform standards high.
We’ve been asked many times if we can integrate with an external laundry contractor. And the answer is a resounding yes! There are two ways that you can connect your professional laundry service provider to your Uniform Management System:
If your commercial laundry partner doesn’t have an online booking system, you can create a booking process through the Smart Red platform. The platform already knows which staff have the authority to order which garments, and through this user management system, you can allocate permission to employees to book laundry services.
Alongside your laundry partner, you can have a menu of services selectable on Smart Red that are provided which may include laundering, pressing, dry cleaning, stain removal, and repairs. Authorised users can select the service(s) required, the times/dates needed and create a booking. This booking could be sent either electronically or via email to your provider to carry out.
What’s easy to do is give your contractor a login to the Smart Red system so they can update the items throughout their cleaning process. The laundry provider would sort, launder, repair and repackage the items, ready to be returned to staff in their usual way.
The whole process can easily be administered and tracked on the Smart Red system that staff are used to using, meaning they don’t need to learn how to use a new platform, and the booking process is entirely in line with your uniform policy.
2) Connect the Smart Red Platform with your provider’s Booking System
If your laundry provider already has an online booking system, it would be beneficial to connect this directly to Smart Red so that staff only need to use one system for all their uniform needs.
It’s possible to connect up calendars, bookings, delivery and tracking so all the administration can be done quickly and efficiently by staff within Smart Red, and your provider will receive all the necessary information to carry out their services. Most importantly we can also connect up all notifications, keeping staff up to date on their laundry status without any manual input required. This level of integration reduces a lot of the admin and the uncertainty out of using an external provider, as staff can keep track of their garments.
