September 18th is the inaugural National Uniform Day, as championed by NAUMD, the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors. The global network has created this day to honour those that work in uniform.
At Big Red Digital, we are lucky enough to work alongside many uniformed employees, and their suppliers. It’s been our great privilege to learn more about their day-to-day roles, and of course how important their uniform is to them.
We know there are many businesses out there that are shining the lights on the excellent work that our emergency services do all around the world. Today we thought we’d also shine a light on some of the less-talked about roles that wear uniform. A few years ago during the Covid pandemic, we referred to these essential staff as ‘key-workers’.
• Postal workers
• Drivers and those that work on public transport
• Waste management operatives
• Utility workers
• Lollipop people (this may be a UK name – people that help children safely cross the roads)
• Factory workers
• Supermarket employees
• Childcare providers
• And many more!
This day is to celebrate all those that proudly wear uniform. We commend the diverse group of individuals who proudly wear uniforms to serve our communities. They are the lifeblood of our society, providing essential services that often go unnoticed.
Today, take the time to recognise the contributions of these professionals and show them how much they are valued. National Uniform Day isn't just about celebrating the uniforms; it's about celebrating the people who wear them.
You can read more about National Uniform day on its dedicated website. Let us know how you’re celebrating!
